As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies—like machine learning and AI—to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.
The UX Engineer is a hybrid, high-impact role that bridges the disciplines of user experience design, front-end engineering, and full-stack development. This role is responsible for transforming user-centered design concepts into scalable, production-ready digital experiences while ensuring consistency, usability, and performance across enterprise applications.
Operating at the intersection of design and engineering, the UX Engineer plays a critical leadership role in driving the adoption of design thinking methodologies within UI development teams. This includes championing user-centered design principles, facilitating collaboration between designers and engineers, and ensuring rigorous adherence to established design systems, UI kits, and component standards.
This role is particularly critical in complex enterprise environments where usability, scalability, and consistency directly impact user efficiency, product adoption, and business outcomes.
Ability to operate fluently across both UX design and UI development domains, translating between disciplines without loss of fidelity.
Deep understanding of design systems as scalable frameworks, with the ability to enforce consistency while enabling flexibility.
Proven ability to guide UI developers and engineers toward higher UX maturity through coaching, training, and example-setting.
Ability to align UX and engineering efforts with broader product and business goals, particularly in enterprise environments.
Strong interpersonal skills to bridge gaps between design, engineering, and product teams, ensuring alignment and shared understanding.

NoThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
