AOI Technician

Set up, operate, and maintain AOI equipment for PCB inspection. Load/unload PCB layers, monitor processes, identify and classify defects, and perform rework and preventive maintenance.

R&D Circuits, a member company of Advantest America, Inc., is wholly owned by Advantest Corporation (a Tokyo Stock Exchange listed company). For over 50 years, R&D Circuits has been a leader in the printed circuit board industry.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate AOI equipment according to established procedures.
  • Load and unload PCB layers onto the AOI machine.
  • Monitor the inspection process and analyze inspection results.
  • Identify and classify defects detected by the AOI system.
  • Verify and rework identified defects, including welding openings and cleaning shorts.
  • Check trace width, space, and resist to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results and defect data.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve inspection issues.
  • Undertake preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs of AOI machines.
  • Perform daily housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support cross‑training efforts and carry out other tasks assigned by the supervisor to meet production needs.

Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the PCB industry, is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
  • Basic computer skills for operating machine controls.
  • Ability to follow detailed requirements and work order instructions.

  • Good hand-eye coordination for rework tasks.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment based on OSHA and company Policies.
  • Able to lift 25 lb. No above-shoulder lifting.
